Museum Franz Mayer<\/strong> is one of my favorite museums and it’s located downtown in Mexico City. The Franz Mayer has been host to some of the best fashion exhibitions in the world. Vogue like a Painting <\/strong>, Comme des Gar\u00e7ons<\/strong> among others. Today I went to see the Carla Fern\u00e1ndez <\/strong>exhibition, curated by Florence M\u00fcller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition explores the ways in which Carla Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> works: collaborating in design and production processes with artisans from all over Mexico, celebrating their vibrant cultures, and using her global platform to promote social justice and fair trade.<\/p>\n\n\n

Carla Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> creates high-fashion designs throughout Mexico. She collaborates with artisans belonging to indigenous communities and other popular and urban collectives. Her work preserves and celebrates centuries-old textile techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This particular collection “La Charrer\u00eda”<\/strong><\/em>, has one of my all time favorite Carla Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> iconic pieces. “The Charra Cape”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
